First Person Shooters will always be among the upper echelons of gaming. It offers a ready escape from reality and an enjoyable fantasy of bringing down the bad guys through means of big weapons in exotic locales around the world. Such is the popularity of FPS gaming that games have transcended from consoles to your mobile phones and tablets and have been doing so for more than a few years now. This is a bit of an older game, still in active development because of how popular it became and its seamless functioning on older, legacy devices. So, if you enjoy your retro gaming and like to blow up the bad guys, here’s a first person shooter you’ll love – SWAT for PC.
Special Weapons and Tactics. SWAT.
While the game isn’t based on the movie of the same name, it still offers the same thrills and spills of the Samuel L Jackson starring feature which has relentless action throughout the movie. This game had the moniker of the most realistic anti-terrorist First Person Shooter in mobile gaming and some part of it holds true to this day. The game also features a sequel for newer devices but that’s for a separate review. Even though the game doesn’t feature a multi-player system in taking on opponents and challengers from other players around the world, it offers an excellent single-player challenge which many argue still represents the very foundation of gaming.
The plot is simple as it is dangerous. Terrorism is the new danger that’s shadowing the world and the many acts of terrorism that are flaring up around the world have a seemingly mysterious connection, each one of them. There is a dark force operating in the background, pulling the strings of the entire operation. This force of terror has gathered such influence and resources that they have the most advanced military weapons at their disposal. From rocket grenade launchers to unmanned drones and fighters to sub-machine guns and powerful automatic weapons, there’s even whispers of this dark terrorist force acquiring nuclear weapons. Danger is looming at every corner and the security of peace is at threat around the world.
